Job Description
GC Genomics is seeking a PhD candidate to work on the development and application of advanced genomic technologies in agriculture, livestock, and biodiversity.
The selected candidate will join the scientific and technical team and actively participate in advanced genomic analysis, genomic selection, and bioinformatics development projects.

Main functions

Analysis of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data.
Genome processing and SNP data.
GWAS studies and genotype-phenotype integration.
Analysis of genetic diversity and population structure.
Development of analysis pipelines (R / Python).
I work in Linux/server environments.
Design and validation of genetic panels by species.
Preparation of technical reports.
Collaboration with external research centers.

Mandatory requirements

PhD in one of the following areas (or related fields):

Biology
Genetics
Biotechnology
Bioinformatics
Vet
Agronomy
Physical
Mathematics

(In the case of Physics or Mathematics, demonstrable experience in NGS and applied bioinformatics is required).

Mandatory technical skills

Analysis of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data.
Mastery of at least one of these areas:
- bioinformatics
- population genetics
- advanced statistical analysis
Programming in R and/or Python.
Regular use of Linux and bioinformatics tools (e.g., GATK, BWA, PLINK, samtools or similar).

Valuable merits

Experience in genomic selection.
Metagenomics / microbiota.
Statistics.
Scientific publications.
Participation in R&D projects.
Scientific English.
